Start with the right question
Most “download not working” reports fall into three buckets: the pin cannot be fetched, the browser cannot finish the file transfer, or the user expected a quality or format Pinterest does not expose. Work through the checks below before assuming the tool is broken.
1. Confirm the pin is public and still live
Open the link in a private/incognito window while logged out of Pinterest. If Pinterest asks you to log in or shows an error, PintDown cannot reach the media either. Deleted pins and secret-board content are out of scope.
2. Use a complete URL
Prefer https://www.pinterest.com/pin/…. Short pin.it links usually work after resolve, but a truncated paste (missing characters) fails analysis. Re-copy from Share → Copy link.
3. Check network and browser state
- Retry on Wi‑Fi if mobile data is unstable.
- Disable aggressive ad blockers temporarily for pintdown.site if requests are blocked.
- Clear a stuck tab and paste again on /video.
4. Understand quality limits
PintDown lists resolutions Pinterest already hosts for that pin. If only 720p appears, a higher version was never published for that media. That is not a failed download—it is the available source set.
5. Format mix-ups
Some pins look like GIFs but are MP4 loops. Use GIF tools when you need a .gif file, or keep MP4 for smaller size. See GIF vs MP4 on Pinterest.
